WHERE DO WE GO NOW? Paul Wellstone, 1944-2002 In the days since the tragic, some would even say suspicious, deaths of Minnesota Senator Paul Wellstone, his wife, daughter and three staff members in a plane crash, so many people who knew him, worked with him, or admired him have weighed in, there's not much I can add. But the incalculable loss of one of the rare, perhaps the last progressive politician to have the courage of his convictions cannot go unremarked upon. And yet, I'm speechless. Therefore, I leave it to the many others listed below who, I think, speak for all of us who believe that it is the job of government to work for the people, not the other way around. This coming Tuesday, November 5, is Election Day. If you believe in the progressive vision of Paul Wellstone, even if, like me, you are disgusted at the way most of our elected Democratic representatives have caved in to most of the Bush agenda, please consider voting Democratic, even if you have to hold your nose to do it. If we all turn out, perhaps we can stop the relentless march of the Bush dictatorship. Stand up. Keep fighting. Win it for Wellstone. - Jill Cozzi Tribute Links: Will our flag continue to fly over a democracy?
